We work with Swedish MVNOs to handle their back-end. Spinbox takes care of the processes, systems and the necessary expertise required to successfully operate mobile services.

What is it that you were looking for when you decided you needed a new billing system?

The billing system in place has many gaps that have to be filled with manual processes. Initially, we were looking for a solution to the provisioning side of the workflow. The current billing system can not be extended and will be fully replaced in the near future.

Why did you choose jBilling?

jBilling was the only serious open source alternative with features that can tackle wireless telecom requirements. The fact that it comes without licensing fees makes it very attractive, but open source has also the advantage of staying current with technology and in constant, rapid evolution.

Tell us about the integration part of the project.

The billing system needs to talk with many other systems. In particular, jBilling developed for us the provisioning plug-ins for the telephony network and the multimedia messaging. The people of jBilling are quite seasoned when it comes to integration.

Was every feature you needed already part of jBilling?

Indeed not. Being a wireless cellphone operator translates to complex requirements for the billing system. We hired jBilling to develop for us features that we needed, like the provisioning plug-ins I mentioned before. Actually, there is more custom development being done for us by jBilling as we speak!

How was your experience hiring jBilling for those customizations?

It's been great for both parties. I like working with knowledgeable people that enjoy what they do. And this is the case with jBilling.

What other services did you hire jBilling for?

They installed and configured our billing server, and handled the rules needed to setup mediation and rating.

How would you qualify your overall experience with jBilling?

Very positive. I'm glad there's a competent, open source company out there dedicated to enterprise billing software.
