We are very pleased to announce the release of jBilling 2.1.0. This release make significant improvements to the telecom features of jBilling, taking the mediation and rating module to a whole new level.

There are the typical improvements that you expect to find in every jBilling release: bug fixes, new payment gateways supported, new methods for the API, etc. Then there are the new telecom features that makes this such a leap forward in open source billing:

• High performance batch mediation and rating: hundreds of records per second
• Real-time mediation: approve and process events as they happen
• Pre-paid calling card-style balances with automatic recharge using credit cards.
• Credit limit for post-paid customers.
• Real-time product availability based on customer's balance and product rating.
• Configurable handling of mediation errors through plug-ins
• Easier PCI compliance with support for external storage of credit card information

You can learn more about these features in the documentation. All four guides have been updated (user, integration, extension and telecom). With so many new telecom features, it is the telecom guide that was fully revised and added entire new chapters.
